As a member of the Employment Connections service team, you will share responsibility for supporting Albertans whose employment was impacted by tariffs. This includes assisting Albertans towards realizing their action plan goals, through the connection to employment skills training or other support services.
In this role, you will frequently interact with clients by telephone, complete assessments, and utilize several computer applications and systems simultaneously. You will monitor and support Albertans while they participate in training interventions. To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to connect to clients, have knowledge of the programs and services offered by Jobs, Economy, Trade and Immigration and other Government of Alberta ministries and be skilled in assessment, critical thinking, conflict resolution and active listening.
Responsibilities involve the following:
- Assessing client’s needs, referring them to appropriate interventions and documenting interactions in multiple computer systems.
- Advising clients of their training and support options.
- Supporting contracted service providers who provide training and employment programs to Albertans.
- Approving requests for training.
- Providing training to contracted service providers.
- Collaborating with Contract Services Coordinators to ensure successful delivery of contracted programs.
You will work in collaboration with a team of professionals providing service to Albertans. This position also involves the ability to work with Albertans in distress and utilize problem-solving and de-escalation techniques to assist individuals with appropriate intervention resources.
