We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Immigration Caseworker to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience handling Canadian immigration applications, particularly in-Canada extension applications and spousal sponsorship matters. This role involves managing immigration files from intake to submission, supporting clients through complex immigration processes, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with IRCC requirements.

Duties
- Manage and track multiple immigration files from initiation through completion using case management systems.
- Prepare and submit in-Canada applications including:
- Visitor record extensions
- Study permit extensions
- Work permit extensions
- Restoration applications
- PGWP applications
- Spousal Open Work Permit applications
- Assist with Family Class and Spousal Sponsorship applications, including inland and outland sponsorships.
- Draft submission letters, statutory forms, client correspondence, and supporting documentation in accordance with IRCC requirements.
- Review application packages thoroughly to ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance before submission.
- Conduct client interviews and gather supporting documentation required for immigration applications.
- Monitor application deadlines, document expiry dates, and follow-up requirements.
- Communicate professionally with clients regarding application updates, missing documents, and procedural requirements.
- Maintain detailed electronic and physical file records while ensuring strict confidentiality of client information.
- Conduct legal and policy research relating to IRCC programs, eligibility requirements, and immigration procedures.
- Provide administrative support including file organization, data entry, scheduling, and correspondence management.
- Coordinate with consultants and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely case progression.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in Canadian immigration, preferably in a legal or RCIC office environment.
- Strong experience with:
- In-Canada extension applications
- Restoration applications
- Spousal sponsorships (inland and outland)
- Open work permit applications
- Familiarity with IRCC portals, online filing systems, and immigration procedures.
- Excellent drafting and proofreading skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with the capacity to manage high caseloads efficiently.
- Proficiency in data entry and case management systems.
- Effective client communication and interviewing skills with professional phone and email etiquette.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy under deadlines.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- Knowledge of Canadian immigration programs and IRCC documentation requirements is highly preferred.
