The Role: CAD and Drafting Technician
Are you ready to make a real impact? We’re looking for a detail-oriented and adaptable professional with a strong foundation in AutoCAD and technical design to support the drafting and documentation of engineered millwork components. In this role, you will apply your analytical mindset, mathematical precision, and problem-solving expertise to translate technical requirements into clear, accurate drawings and documentation. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across Sales, Purchasing, and Production, influencing continuous improvement and driving efficient, high-quality outcomes. Part of What You’ll Do
- Create, revise and maintain product drawings using AutoCAD.
- Maintain drawing catalogues, SKU master records, product reports and technical documentation.
- Support product development through design, testing, implementation and customer-specific modifications.
- Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing and Production on new and revised product drawings.
- Contribute to quality forms, technical manuals, marketing literature and product launch documentation.
- Identify and support process improvements that improve quality, consistency, efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Organize and prioritize work effectively to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Participate in various meetings across global time zones as applicable.
- Participate in and support quality and engineering initiatives to enhance business knowledge and personal growth.
What You Bring
- Completion of relevant post secondary education from an accredited and recognized institution, with a focus in CAD design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks, and strong working experience with Microsoft 365, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good knowledge and experience of CAD drafting standards, and of project lifecycles.
- Strong analytical, mathematical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to document, analyze and communicate technical and process requirements clearly.
- Organized, self-motivated and able to effectively manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency, in an environment of shifting deadlines.
- Proficiency in exercising good judgement in ambiguous situations.
- Collaborative, customer-focused and professional demeanor.
- Excellent communication skills and fluency in oral and written English.
- Capable to influence change across teams.
- Experience with design software, manufacturing processes, quality tools, Lean/Six Sigma or ERP systems is preferred.
Nice to Have:
- Relevant industry experience.
- Experience working in Photoshop, Illustrator or other design software an asset.
- Direct experience in manufacturing or product management is considered an asset.
- Quality experience with gauge designs, measurement tools/methods, data collection and analysis.
- Familiar with theoretical and practical expertise in Lean and Six-Sigma tools and methodologies.
- Hands-on experience with Epicor BisTrack or a similar ERP system.
- Fluency in other languages is a strong asset.

Target annual base salary range is $45,000.00 to $57,000.00. Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
