Solution Architect - Senior - Job Description:
This role involves defining a strategic roadmap to transition an existing application ecosystem into a distributed system with microservices architecture. The project focuses on migration and modernization of systems and requires collaboration with stakeholders to mitigate risks and align with business strategies.
Solution Architect - Senior - Responsibilities:
- Assess the current applications' landscape and identify modernization opportunities.
- Evaluate and recommend the optimal architecture approach (microservices, modular monolith, hybrid, or incremental modernization).
- Develop target-state architectures and strategic modernization roadmaps.
- Lead domain modeling and enterprise application design activities.
- Ensure alignment of technology solutions with business strategy and operational requirements.
- Identify and mitigate architectural, technical, and operational risks.
- Provide architectural leadership and oversight across projects and initiatives.
Solution Architect - Senior - Mandatory Skills:
- Ten years' practical experience working in a Solution Architecture role.
- Experience in interpreting and verifying complex business requirements.
- Experience in system integration and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience creating architecture models using various tools.
- Experience presenting findings and recommendations to clients.
- Architecture experience with complex programs and projects.
- Experience designing distributed systems.
Solution Architect - Senior – Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience in data integration and developing data models.
- Experience with reference models and architecture patterns.
- Knowledge of Enterprise Architecture frameworks.
- Experience in public sector or large organizations.
- Microservices Architect Skills such as domain-driven design and container orchestration.
Solution Architect - Senior – Assignment Length:
The contract is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Open to fully remote candidates (must support MST timezone).
