We are currently seeking the following position for our Asphalt City/Highway Divisions.
- Class 3 Tack Truck Operator
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Foreman, the Tack Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of an asphalt distributor truck used to apply liquid asphalt/emulsion on roadways. This role also includes routine inspection, cleaning, and maintenance of the equipment.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate and set spray bar distributors to accurately apply liquid asphalt.
- Apply asphalt to designated areas with a high level of precision and attention to detail.
- Monitor equipment condition and report any maintenance or repair needs to the Foreman.
- Perform general labor duties as required, including shoveling and raking.
- Maintain constant awareness of surroundings to ensure safe operations.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, using appropriate tools and equipment for each task.
- Contribute to a safe work environment and ensure the safety of fellow employees.
- Represent and protect the company’s interests in all work-related activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum two years related asphalt and road construction experience is an asset
- Willingness to work shift work, weekends, overtime, and extended hours as required
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in varying weather conditions
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Valid class 3 with air driver’s license
