KP Metals Canada is looking for a reliable and hardworking Scrap Metal Yard Assistant / Driver to join our team. This role involves collecting, sorting, loading, and transporting scrap metal. The ideal candidate is physically fit, dependable, and enjoys hands-on work.
Responsibilities
- Drive the company vehicle to pick up and deliver scrap metal.
- Load and unload scrap metal safely.
- Lift and move heavy metal materials.
- Sort and separate different types of scrap metals.
- Assist with loading containers for export.
- Keep the yard clean, organized, and safe.
- Inspect and secure loads before transportation.
- Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.
- Communicate professionally with customers during pickups and Dropoffs.
- Perform general labour and yard duties as required.
Requirements
- Valid BC Class 5 driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift heavy materials (50 lbs+).
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of hand tools is an asset.
- Forklift operator certification and experience is an asset but not required.
- Experience in scrap metal, construction, demolition, warehouse, or general labour is an asset but not required.
Pay: $19.00 per hour
