Klova Energy Solutions is a growing residential HVAC company specializing in heat pump solutions for homeowners. We are building a strong, scalable sales and lead generation department to support continued growth across Nova Scotia.
We are looking for a motivated and organized Door Knocking Manager to help build our door-to-door lead generation department from the ground up.
This is not a role where you are walking into an already-built team. The right candidate will be responsible for helping create the structure, hiring the team, training the team, managing daily activity, and ensuring the department consistently generates qualified heat pump appointments for our sales closers.
Position Overview
The Door Knocking Manager will be responsible for recruiting, training, managing, and leading a team of door knockers/appointment setters. The goal of this department is to generate qualified residential heat pump leads and book appointments for Klova’s dedicated sales closers.
This role is ideal for someone who is a strong leader, enjoys building teams, understands field sales activity, and can hold people accountable to daily performance expectations.
The Door Knocking Manager does not need to be an experienced HVAC closer. Klova already has dedicated sales closers who will work directly with this manager and the leads generated by the door knocking team.
However, the right candidate will also have the opportunity to learn HVAC sales, quoting, pricing, and closing over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Build Klova’s door knocking department from the ground up.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard door knockers/appointment setters.
- Train new door knockers on scripts, customer approach, professionalism, territory management, and lead qualification.
- Manage the daily activity of the door knocking team.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly lead generation goals.
- Track team performance using CRM tools such as SalesRabbit, Salesforce, Jobber, or similar platforms.
- Assign territories and ensure proper coverage.
- Monitor door knocker activity, lead quality, appointment volume, and performance.
- Work directly with Klova’s sales closers to ensure appointments are properly handed off.
- Review lead quality and provide coaching to improve results.
- Hold the team accountable to activity standards and professional conduct.
- Help develop scripts, training materials, and standard operating procedures for the department.
- Ensure all leads are accurately entered into the CRM.
- Report weekly results to company leadership.
- Represent Klova Energy Solutions professionally in the field and in the community.
What the Door Knocking Team Will Be Responsible For
The team this manager builds will focus on:
- Door-to-door lead generation.
- Speaking with homeowners about heat pump solutions.
- Identifying interested homeowners.
- Booking qualified appointments.
- Entering leads into the CRM.
- Passing appointments to Klova’s sales closers.
The door knockers are not expected to close deals. Their role is to generate qualified leads and book appointments.
Compensation Structure
This position includes hourly pay plus performance-based commission and bonuses.
Compensation may include:
- $27–$32/hour, based on experience.
- Commission on qualified appointments generated by the team.
- Commission or override on sold jobs generated by the door knocking department.
- Additional compensation if the manager personally closes jobs.
- Performance bonuses based on team results.
Expected total compensation for a strong performer is $80,000–$110,000+ per year.
Full compensation structure will be discussed during the interview process.

HVAC experience is considered an asset but is not required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in sales, canvassing, team management, or field leadership preferred.
- Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.
- Comfortable working in the field.
- Comfortable recruiting and managing a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to use CRM software and mobile apps.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends when required.
