Our client, a well-established organization specializing in communications technology, is seeking an experienced Accountant to support financial reporting during a critical operational period and upcoming ERP transition.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, this contract role is based in Dartmouth, NS and is ideal for a detail-oriented professional, comfortable working independently, and confident managing complex accounting data from source documentation. This opportunity offers flexible working hours, strong potential for extension, and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:

Prepare journal entries and supporting reconciliations

Assist with financial statement reporting and analysis

Build and maintain working papers supporting the trial balance
-
Perform deferred revenue calculations and reporting
-
Support capitalization of work and work-in-progress accounting
-
Work with source documentation to validate financial data

Develop and maintain reporting templates, spreadsheets, and Excel-based tools/macros
-
Provide reporting support during the kickoff phase of a new ERP implementation

Collaborate with finance leadership and cross-functional stakeholders as needed
Experience & Attributes for Success:
-
Strong financial reporting and general accounting experience
-
Advanced Excel skills, including templates, formulas, and macros

Experience with deferred revenue and WIP accounting
-
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
-
Strong communication and documentation skills
-
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment

Experience working with ERP systems and accounting software
-
QuickBooks Desktop experience is considered an asset
