Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical, electrical, and industrial maintenance expertise to ensure the optimal operation of heavy machinery and equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of equiptment within a fast-paced environment. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will play a vital role in minimizing downtime and supporting continuous production processes through expert technical skills and proactive maintenance practices.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty equipment including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
- Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to identify issues and execute repairs efficiently.
- Maintain and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage systems, and industrial electrical components.
- Conduct welding, HVAC maintenance, servicing, and other specialized mechanical tasks as needed.
- Assist with preventive maintenance schedules to reduce equipment failure and extend machinery lifespan.
- Operate diagnostic tools to analyze mechanical and electrical problems accurately.
- Follow safety protocols diligently to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.
- Document all maintenance activities clearly within the CMMS system for tracking and compliance purposes.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
Experience
- Proven experience in civil and foresty sector.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, schematics, and troubleshooting techniques related to heavy-duty equipment.
- Experience working with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), low voltage electrical systems, and industrial electrician practices.
- Familiarity with welding, HVAC systems, boiler operation, and industrial electrical experience is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and analysis skills for diagnosing complex issues.
- Prior experience using CMMS software for maintenance management is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills in English are necessary for effective teamwork and documentation.
- Customer service orientation is a plus for interacting with internal stakeholders effectively.
