Construction Pipelayer
Location: City of Toronto & GTA
Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Compensation: Union wage and benefits package (LIUNA Local 183 agreement)
Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Pipelayer/Labourer to join our growing sewer and watermain crew. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation of sanitary sewers, storm sewers, watermains, and related underground infrastructure projects throughout the City of Toronto and GTA.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of sewer and watermain pipelaying experience preferred.
- Ability to read grade stakes and construction drawings.
- Experience working around heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of underground utility construction.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Safety-conscious with a strong work ethic and teamwork skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Must have knowledge of traffic control and experience working within right of way.
Responsibilities
- Install sanitary, storm, and watermain piping as directed.
- Prepare pipe bedding materials.
- Connect pipe sections using appropriate fittings, gaskets, and sealing methods.
- Work safely in and around trenches and excavations.
- Assist with trench shoring, backfilling, and compaction activities.
- Set pipe grades and alignments.
- Operate hand and power tools safely.
- Work closely with equipment operators, laborers, and supervisors.
- Maintain a safe and productive work environment.
- Follow company safety procedures, municipal specifications, and environmental regulations.

Pay: $46.82-$49.80 per hour
