Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled HD Mechanic Contractor to provide expert maintenance and repair services for heavy-duty equipment. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with heavy machinery, including excavators, dozers, rock trucks, while demonstrating strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. This role requires a proactive approach to equipment maintenance, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards are maintained at all times.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on heavy equipment
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently during repair procedures
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all maintenance activities
- Repair and service Caterpillar, Hitachi, Deere, Komatsu equipment both in the shop and in the field
- Diagnose, identify and repair problems, faults and malfunctions in structural, mechanical or hydraulic systems
- Maintain and repair vehicles including but not limited to: earth moving equipment, trucks, trailers and tracked equipment
- A self-driven approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Take direction from shop Foreman to ensure all repairs and tests are performed satisfactorily both in the field and in the shop
- Strong problem-solving mindset and commitment to quality service and safety
- Follow all safety standards, best practices, and company and site policies
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic trade certification
- Valid Class 5 license
- Minimum 5 years experience
- Prior experience with Caterpillar, Hitachi, Deere, Komatsu equipment
- Steel-toe boots required
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Work 12/h days, 7 ON 7 OFF shift rotation
- Camp not available. Responsible for getting to and from the site daily.
- Service Truck, tools, and coveralls provided on-site.
Pay: $80.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
