Overview
Blue Water Sushi is hiring an experienced Sushi Chef to lead sushi preparation and support kitchen operations in a fast-paced, on-site restaurant environment.
Requirements
- Language: English
- Education: Secondary school diploma
- Experience: 2–3 years
- Role Level: Sushi Chef
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare sushi, sashimi, nigiri, maki, and specialty rolls
- Supervise and train sushi cooks and junior staff
- Maintain sushi bar inventory, freshness, and food safety
- Inspect fish quality and ensure proper storage
- Assist with menu planning and seasonal features
- Ensure presentation standards and consistency
- Track food costs, inventory, and kitchen operations
- Demonstrate new techniques and equipment
- Create new recipes and requisition supplies
- Accommodate food allergies and dietary needs
Work Environment
- Fast-paced with tight deadlines
- Physically demanding (lifting, standing long periods)
