Job Summary:
Pumpkins After Dark, an exciting and immersive Halloween festival, is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as an Event Manager. This contract position requires dedication and the ability to oversee onsite logistics and staff management during operating dates. As the Event Manager, you will work closely with the Management team to ensure the smooth execution of all event operations.
Rate will be negotiated based on experience and skills.
Responsibilities:
· Act as a liaison with the venue, City of Winnipeg, and management team to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.
· Serve as the primary point of contact for contractors, including security, food trucks, and maintenance team, to ensure all event needs are met.
· Oversee all onsite temporary staff, which includes approximately 30 staff members divided into groups with an assigned team lead for each group.
· Participate in staff orientation and assist with training before the event opening.
· Support staff by providing guidance and a positive work environment.
· Work closely with the hiring manager to maintain staff schedules and ensure all roles are filled.
· Follow established protocols in response to medical emergencies and security concerns.
· Maintain a welcoming environment while interacting with attendees and staff, ensuring a high-quality guest experience.
· Professionally handle customer complaints.
· Oversee and execute opening and closing procedures.
· Generate daily reports for merchandise and pumpkin store sales.
· Provide daily "event day" reports to the management team.
· Be available during set-up dates to closely work with the team and gain an understanding of how the displays operate.
· Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the flow of events.
Requirements:
· Previous experience in event management is considered an asset.
· Excellent verbal communication skills to effectively interact with various stakeholders.
· Proactive and action-oriented mindset with keen attention to detail.
· Strong customer service skills to ensure a positive guest experience.
· Passion for the live event industry and a desire to contribute to its success.
· Must be available to work all event dates, including evenings and weekends.

Oct 14th | 7pm - 9pm | Media Night
Oct 15 - 18th | 7pm - 11pm | Event Week 1
Oct 22 - 25th | 6:45pm - 11pm | Event Week 2
Oct 29 - 31st | 6:30pm - 11pm | Event Week 3
*Managers arrive 2 hours before show open
