Job Overview
We are Sun Wah Centre in Vancouver Chinatown. It is a commercial building with over 70 tenants and 3-story parking garage.
Responsibilities
- Monitor CCTV to oversee building activity and identify potential security threats
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized access or activities
- Respond promptly to security incidents or alarms, following established protocols
- Maintain detailed logs of security activities, incidents, and observations
- Enforce loss prevention policies by observing and addressing suspicious behavior
- Assist visitors and staff with access control procedures, verifying identities as needed
- Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services during incidents requiring external intervention
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to management for prompt resolution
Requirements
- Chinese is required; proficiency in English is preferred
- Prior experience in law enforcement, security, surveillance, or loss prevention is highly desirable
- Knowledge of CCTV operation and monitoring procedures
- Strong observational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies or stressful situations
- Excellent communication skills in Chinese; ability to interact effectively with diverse populations
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours on a part-time basis
- Ability to pass background checks and any necessary security clearances
