HOURS: 7:30am to 5:30pm (Monday to Friday)
7:30am am to 3:00pm (every other Saturday)
Brae-Con Building Supplies/BMR Pro is seeking a motivated and customer-focused LBM Counter Salesperson to join our team at our building supplies and lumber yard in Elmvale. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service, possess solid knowledge of building materials and lumber, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date on product offerings and pricing. As a key member of our sales team, you will assist customers in selecting the right materials for their projects and facilitating special orders for non-stock or out-of-stock items.

Key Responsibilities
· Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to contractors, homeowners, and DIY customers by answering questions, offering product recommendations, and assisting with sales.
· Product Knowledge: Demonstrate a thorough understanding of building materials, including lumber, insulation, drywall, fasteners, paints, and other supplies. Continuously update knowledge on product uses, advantages, and new innovations in the industry.
· Special Orders & Inventory Management: Process special orders for non-stock or out-of-stock items, coordinating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Track inventory levels and help maintain an efficient stock of popular materials.
· Pricing & Estimates: Maintain up-to-date pricing information and assist customers in providing accurate estimates for their projects. Explain pricing structures and promotions to customers and offer cost-effective solutions.
· Sales Support: Assist in achieving sales goals by promoting high-demand or seasonal products and recommending complementary items.
· Continuous Learning & Development: Engage in ongoing training sessions to remain current with new products, techniques, and industry trends.
· Problem-Solving: Assist customers with issues related to product compatibility, returns, or exchanges and work toward positive resolutions, always prioritizing customer satisfaction.
Qualifications:
· Experience: Previous experience in sales or customer service, preferably in a building material, lumber yard, or home improvement environment.
· Knowledge: Solid understanding of building materials, tools, and supplies used in construction and renovation projects.
· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage customers and explain product details clearly.
· Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail to manage inventory, orders, and customer inquiries efficiently.
· Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using point-of-sale systems, inventory software, and general computer applications.
· Customer Focused: Friendly, approachable, and dedicated to delivering a positive customer experience.
· Physical Demands: Ability to lift and carry building materials and supplies, as well as work in a fast-paced, sometimes physically demanding environment.
