OVERVIEW
Our client is a full-service construction and mining equipment rental, sales, and service company supporting customers across the mining, construction, and industrial sectors. The organization provides equipment sales, rentals, service, customization, and certification, with a strong focus on practical solutions for demanding field, shop, and underground work environments.
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Level III) will join the service team at a busy Timmins location and play a senior hands-on role in maintaining rental and customer-owned equipment. This position is well suited for an experienced technician who can diagnose complex issues, lead major repairs and rebuilds, support underground service work, and provide technical guidance to other mechanics on the team.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair rental and customer-owned heavy equipment.
· Lead major overhauls, rebuilds, and underground service work with minimal supervision.
· Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy machinery.
· Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and training for Level I and Level II heavy equipment mechanics.
· Create, review, and maintain accurate work orders and service documentation.
· Prepare service quotations and support accurate repair scoping where required.
· Coordinate with supervisors, management, and customers on specialized repair projects.
· Ensure work is completed in compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and best practices for shop, field, and underground environments.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Minimum five years of heavy equipment mechanic experience preferred.
· Strong technical background with advanced troubleshooting ability across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
· Experience working on forklifts, telehandlers, aerial work platforms, compact equipment, underground mining equipment, or related heavy machinery is considered an asset.
· Underground mining experience is preferred.
· HDEM Red Seal Certification is considered an asset.
· Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with supervisors, customers, and other technicians.
· Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable maintaining accurate service records and documentation.
· Computer literacy and the ability to work with basic service, work order, or administrative systems.
· Ability to work in person from the Timmins location.
