Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Personal Support Worker to join our team in a casual role to provide compassionate care to individuals in our Sarnia-Lambton community. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for helping others and be committed to enhancing the quality of life for those they support.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, socialization.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Perform heavy lifting as required to assist clients with mobility and transfers.
- Maintain a clean and safe living space for clients, ensuring all areas are tidy and hygienic.
- Document client progress and report any changes in health or behavior to the appropriate personnel.
- Support clients with dementia care, hospice care, or other specialized needs as required.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental well-being and physical health.
Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker certificate or equivalent experience
- Previous experience in caregiving, nursing home settings, home care, or senior care is required.
- Familiarity with working with persons with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others.
- Knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia care and hospice care principles.
- Valid driver's license, insurance and a reliable vehicle
