The Children's Foundation is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and relationship focused Fundraising & Events Coordinator to join our team on a full-time maternity leave contract of approximately 18 months.
Working alongside a small, dedicated team, you will help raise funds that ensure children and youth across Hastings, Northumberland, and Prince Edward Counties have opportunities to explore, learn, play, and thrive.
The successful candidate will benefit from several months of mentorship and transition with the current coordinator before assuming responsibility for our major fundraising events. This unique opportunity provides valuable hands-on experience, allowing you to build confidence, establish community relationships, and gain valuable knowledge before leading our signature fundraising events.
About the Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Fundraising & Events Coordinator plays an integral role in advancing the Foundation's fundraising efforts through signature events, sponsorship development, donor engagement, and community partnerships.
This position is responsible for planning and executing signature fundraising events, cultivating meaningful relationships with donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community partners, and helping increase awareness and support for the Foundation's mission.
This is a dynamic, people focused role that combines event management, relationship building, fundraising, and community outreach. The successful candidate will work closely with a passionate team while taking ownership of events that directly impact children and youth throughout Hastings, Northumberland, and Prince Edward Counties.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate fundraising events from initial planning through successful execution and post event evaluation.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with sponsors, donors, volunteers, Board members, and community partners.
- Solicit sponsorships, auction items, and in kind donations to support fundraising initiatives.
- Coordinate event logistics, timelines, budgets, vendors, volunteers, committees, and event day operations.
- Assist with marketing initiatives, social media, website updates, and event promotions.
- Prepare donor communications, sponsorship packages, reports, presentations, and correspondence.
- Support donor stewardship activities and help strengthen long term community relationships.
- Represent the Foundation professionally at meetings, networking opportunities, and community events.
- Maintain accurate records and assist with reporting and administrative responsibilities.
- Attend occasional evenings and weekends to support Foundation events and community initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with Foundation staff, volunteers, Board members, and community partners to achieve fundraising and organizational goals.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
- Post secondary education in event management, fundraising, marketing, communications, public relations, business administration, nonprofit management, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience in event planning, fundraising, marketing, communications, community engagement, donor relations, or a related field.
- Experience coordinating events involving volunteers, sponsors, vendors, or community partners is considered an asset.
- Experience working in the charitable or nonprofit sector is considered an asset.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with donor management software and social media platforms is considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare professional correspondence, donor communications, sponsorship requests, reports, and marketing materials.
- Excellent organizational, project management, and time management skills.
- A valid Ontario driver's licence and access to reliable transportation are required.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends to support Foundation events.
- The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check.
