Childsplace is looking to recruit dynamic daycare and BAS substitute teachers for our awesome group of kids!! You would be working on call if someone needs to be away. Shifts could be scheduled ahead of time or short notice such as illness.
Your primary role will be engaging with the children and assisting in the room as needed. We follow Flight and have a routine that enhances the child's learning and development. We have 27 kids daily and 40 kids in our BAS program, family style learning and child care (1 room divided for age groups). It's a very busy and fun centre.
Responsibilities and Duties
Engage with activities for a group of kids ages 19 months to 12 years
Change diapers
Assist with washroom and potty training
Engage with kids during play
Centre is open 630am to 6pm Monday to Friday so shift is during operation hours.
Assist with dressing
Assist with prepping snack
Following routines and transitions for the children
Working in a team of 6 adults
Engage with parents by having positive conversations (even when something bad has happened)
Work well under pressure and stress with a large group of children.
Able to be flexible with the daily schedule and able to plan for last minute changes in routine.
Qualifications and Skills
Level 1 minimum; must have certification to be a candidate for the position
minimum of 1 year experience in child care
First Aid and CPR
Current police check (within 6 months) with vulnerable sector search
