The anticipated annual base salary for this position is $89,100 - $117,000. The salary offered will be based on the candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and qualifications.
Toyota Canada Inc. currently has an exciting opportunity for a marketing professional to join our Marketing team. This is a 12-month contract opportunity reporting to the Manager, Nameplate Marketing. The successful candidate will collaborate with our internal departments and Agency partners to lead long to mid-term planning & development of lifecycle marketing strategies in support of Toyota Canada’s vehicle portfolio. Determine, monitor & report on key performance indicators in line with strategy. What You’ll be Doing:
Direct and coordinate the planning & development of business-rooted, insight-driven and brand-aligned Marketing lifecycle strategies
Inspire and influence our agency partners to develop lifecycle communication strategies leveraging consumer insights – pre-launch, launch, sustainment and/or Always On considerations.
Develop, follow and audit a highly disciplined approach to vehicle communication strategy including consumer insights, research, project timelines, critical path, briefing and PDCA – planning & performance
Work alongside internal departments ensure that long lead product build and strategy is aligned to consumer needs/wants – Bring Marketing to the table early and often to create a truly consumer-centric approach.
Determine, inform & socialize (brief) brand-aligned Marketing communication strategy, including positioning, target profile, KPI’s, key message statements, product alignment, and desired approach through launch committee coordination (across + up the organization) inclusive of our other agency partners
Consult with retail, digital, LCM, partnerships & experiential associates/partners/managers to ensure communications are fully aligned to brief, on strategy and consumer relevant
Monitor/track, analyze and provide regular reporting via PDCA of vehicle portfolio marketing communication efforts against strategy KPI’s & key messages including Tier 1 ad tracking results, Tier 2/3 execution review, and provide insightful recommendations
Coordinate a common methodology & approach for the communication strategy process with other Marketing Planners to ensure consistency with ease of understanding & explaining
Consult with Toyota Global & Toyota North America with regards to key vehicle product strategy support – IDT, strategy, approach, research – to understand potential alignment to Canadian strategy
Prescribe & facilitate the agency score carding on a bi-annual basis with Brand Consultant & Manager
Day to day leadership and ownership of portfolio across all Marketing associates and internal departments, including presentations of marketing strategy and communications as required.
Budgeting: responsible for managing all spend against vehicles within the portfolio and ensure spend is on budget.
Agency Management: Planning, conduct briefings, ensure adherence to insights and timeline, and agency score carding (evaluation & feedback)
Other projects as needed to support Marketing team
What You’ll Bring:
College or University Business Administration, Marketing or related discipline
5+ years in the marketing field – Agency and or client side with a strong fundamental grounding in strategy, marketing communications and omnichannel connections planning
A proven track record in marketing communications and turning strong insights into action, as well as working with diverse internal and external teams to lead consistent, compelling and well aligned marketing efforts
Primary experience working on marketing communications, with strong marketing acumen; previous automotive experience is an asset but not mandatory
Experience in influencing agencies and partners
Experience with consumer centric, value-based approach to strategic campaign development
Strong decision making and communication skills, ability to problem solve and utilize consumer insights and PDCA in formulating recommended course of actions
Experience in project management (long and short) with vision and plans to achieve
Impact and Influence skills - Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to impact and influence. Able to motivate and inspire internal & external teams, partners and agencies
Strong presentation skills, collaboration & cross-functional skills (local & international)
Bilingual (English & French) is an asset
Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to impact & influence without authority
Self-motivator – Ability to start and complete tasks with limited supervision
