About the Role
City of Brampton's Rapid Response Guard provides a uniform security presence at various City of Brampton locations including Rose Theatre, City Hall, Civic Centre, and other Downtown Brampton facilities, properties, assets, and events
Key Responsibilities

Respond to and report all incidents of criminal activity, suspicious activity, and hazardous situations.

Conduct proactive patrols (interior and exterior); address policy breaches and note facility concerns.

Unlock and lock doors and offices; provide access control.

Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons.

Attend and investigate security alarms and emergencies in a timely and professional manner.

De-escalate crises and liaise with emergency personnel including police, fire, and paramedics.

Write detailed incident reports for all emergency and day-to-day activities.

Provide first aid and medical response as required.

Log in/out of key, radio, and pager audits.

Ensure buildings are secured after hours.

Complete patrols using electronic guard tour software.

Respond to all types of occurrences; contribute to team effort as needed.

Deter and enforce prohibited acts (loitering, panhandling, smoking, skateboarding, cycling).
Requirements
-
Minimum two (2) years of security guard experience in a municipal government or corporate environment (asset).

Dispatch and Mobile experience considered an asset.

Valid Security Guard Licence for the Province of Ontario.

Valid First Aid/CPR certification.
-
Valid Ontario Class G Driver's Licence with a 3-year clean Driver's Abstract.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.

Must participate in professional development and on-site leveling system requirements.

Must complete all required site training within 30 days of on-site hire date.

Legally authorized to work in Canada.

Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB). Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) certification program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position

The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability

Previous dispatch or mobile patrol experience considered a strong asset.
