Strathcona Mechanical Limited (SML) is seeking a dedicated Safety Officer to join our team and help ensure safe, compliant, and productive operations across our job sites in British Columbia and Alberta.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement corrective and preventative safety measures
Support supervisors and workers with safety-related questions and concerns
Assist with incident and near-miss investigations, reporting, and follow-up
Support emergency response planning and preparedness
Maintain accurate safety documentation, records, and reports
Monitor work practices and recommend improvements where required
Promote a positive, proactive safety-first culture throughout the organization
Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety practices and legislation
Experience working in mechanical, construction, or related environments
Knowledge of BC and Alberta OHS and WCB requirements
Strong hazard identification and risk-assessment skills
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently while building strong relationships with field personnel
Valid driver's license and ability to travel between job sites as required
Clean criminal record check

Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
Work Location: Hybrid remote in Leduc, AB
