The Cascadia Society For Social Working
About Us
Cascadia is a Life-Sharing community located in North Vancouver, with two residences and a day centre. Working at Cascadia is more than just a job. It is a way of life where each person can make a meaningful contribution to the community, and where everyone has the opportunity to grow and develop towards their fullest potential.
Through meaningful activities, a healing environment, and caring human companionship, the Cascadia Society encourages each person to become masters of their own life. This mastery occurs in the context of family, community and society. By emphasizing both independence and interdependence, Cascadia provides opportunities for individuals to become active and confident citizens in their community.
The Cascadia Society is a Camphill community and a member of the Camphill Association of North America. It is founded on the practical, therapeutic and philosophical insights of Rudolf Steiner and Karl Konig (the founder of the Camphill movement).
Successful Home Share Providers have either professional or personal experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder and mental health issues.
What is a Home Share Provider?
Home Share Providers at Cascadia provide safe and welcoming homes to people who require additional support to live in their community. These supports will include companionship, support with daily living tasks, meals, accessing community activities and resources, and personal care.
Home Sharing is a live-in arrangement, which means that the person supported is part of your household. The Home Share provider will play a key role in fostering independence, community involvement, and personal growth.
