Advantage Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced Commercial Tailor on behalf of our client in Bedford, NS. Responsibilities:
- Construct, alter, and repair uniforms, coats, specialty garments, and other commercial apparel
- Read and interpret technical specifications, measurements, and garment patterns
- Operate industrial sewing machines and utilize hand-finishing techniques
- Perform alterations and fittings to ensure garments meet customer specifications
- Maintain consistent quality, durability, and attention to detail throughout production
- Collaborate with production staff to meet deadlines and production schedules
- Inspect finished garments to ensure quality standards are met
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and company standards
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Commercial Tailor or Industrial Sewing Machine Operator
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, alterations, and finishing techniques
- Experience using industrial sewing machines and commercial tailoring equipment
- Ability to read patterns, technical drawings, and garment specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Formal tailoring or garment technology training is considered an asset
