Clip 'n Climb Edmonton is a fun and innovative concept in indoor climbing. With its bold and colorful climbing structures, our gym has something to offer everyone, no matter their age, fitness level or climbing experience. This position would suit a mature-minded, confident, energetic and friendly person to join our awesome team. As the first face people see when they enter our facility, you will offer a welcoming presence, and then capably & confidently guide our customers through the check-in process so they can get on their way to the fun of climbing.
As customer service and front desk person, your duties will include:
- greeting customers as they enter the facility
- checking-in customers for their pre-booked climbing sessions
- ensure all online waivers have been completed correctly for each climber, and then recorded against the booking
- navigating the booking system to create new or to edit current bookings
- taking payments through our Square Payment platform
- answering telephone calls in a friendly & confident manner, and being a source of direct information
- becoming knowledgeable of all the services we offer, knowing how our facility operates and learning about our brand
- setting up and closing down of the cash registers & waiver stations
- keeping the facility clean & immaculate before, during & after each session; this will include, but is not limited to: cleaning the reception area and foyer, cleaning windows & front door, restocking food/drink items, cleaning Washrooms, replenishing party supplies, cleaning up after party room usage, taking out garbage.
** Please Note - This position involves a lot of enhanced cleaning duties. If you're not fond of cleaning, then please don't apply for this position.
The ideal candidate will:
- have an excellent command of spoken English, be a natural communicator, and be comfortable engaging in conversation with customers, and offering direction and information to first-time guests
- present themselves in a mature, confident, friendly and professional manner
- be proactive in nature and show initiative
- have superior attention to detail, strong work ethic and reliability
- be able to work independently, and as part of a team
- cash handling experience
- be willing to cross-train or up-skill as part of ongoing skill development
Experience working in a customer service based role is required. We're looking for someone who has a demonstrated ability in creating positive interactions with customers of all ages - youth and adult. Experience working with Square Payment (Point of Sale) platform is an asset. Someone with an affinity for sports and fitness is highly desirable, but not mandatory. All training related to navigating the online booking system will be provided by the employer.
** This is a part-time position (15-20 hours per week) involving WEEKEND hours (both Saturdays & Sundays) and some weekday evenings. (Extra hours will often be available during school breaks & Stat Holidays).
