Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Warehouse and Logistics Assistant to support our distribution operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with warehouse management systems, heavy equipment operation, and order fulfillment processes. This role involves handling shipping and receiving, operating forklifts and cranes, and ensuring efficient warehouse flow. Candidates with warehouse experience, mechanical knowledge, and familiarity with manufacturing or construction environments will excel in this position. The Warehouse and Logistics Assistant plays a vital role in maintaining smooth logistics operations, supporting inventory accuracy, and ensuring timely delivery of products.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers to load, unload, and move materials safely within the warehouse
- Assist with shipping & receiving activities, including verifying shipments and preparing items for dispatch
- Perform order picking, packing, and packaging to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Utilize warehouse management systems such as AS400 to track inventory levels and update records
- Conduct heavy lifting tasks to move materials or products as needed
- Support warehouse distribution activities by organizing stock locations and maintaining a clean work environment
- Load & unload goods from trucks using appropriate equipment while adhering to safety protocols
- Assist in maintaining safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse procedures
- Support manufacturing or construction-related tasks as required, applying mechanical knowledge when necessary
- Oversee and update the warehouse inventory, and schedule maintenance for our fleet of pickups, trucks, and equipment
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a warehouse or distribution center is preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms
- Experience operating heavy equipment including forklifts, reach trucks, cranes, and order pickers is highly desirable
- Mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing or construction environments is a plus
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in order fulfillment processes
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures and inventory management practices
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety standards
- Prior experience with warehouse experience or logistics operations is preferred but not required
Pay: $19.00-$20.00 per hour
