Summary
Programmer assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating meaningful recreational programs that meet the interests, needs and abilities of residents.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 and 2-year community college diploma in recreation leadership or similar related program
- Food Handlers Certification an asset
- Extensive experience in programming recreational activities for older adults in long term care setting
- Person-centred and resident-focused
- Computer skills & working knowledge of point click care / activity pro programs
- Energetic and enthusiastic personality
- French-speaking an asset
- Sincere desire to help, be empathetic and abilities to stir interest with clients
- Self directed and display leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to work and communicate with small and large groups and with individuals on a 1-1 basis
- Valid drivers license
- Have a positive work ethic, team player, motivation
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts: days, afternoon/early evening, weekends, and statutory holidays
- Clear Police Records Check for Vulnerable Sector
