Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Shipper/Receiver candidate for one of our clients located in Elmira ON. As a Shipper & Receiver you are a crucial part of this segment in their logistics and would be working in conjunction with the Purchasing & Logistics Manager, as well as other staff.
Reporting to the Purchasing & Logistics Manager, the Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for shipping part orders, receiving incoming materials, looking after the stockroom, putting away parts and supplied, and also the building of parts.
Full time position Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm
Wage is negotiable based on experience
temp-to-perm hire
Criminal background and reference check will be required
Duties
- Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping; prepare bills of lading, customs forms, and other shipping documents manually or by computer (UPS, Purolator and transport companies)
- This position requires lots of paperwork/admin tasks
- Assemble containers and crates, record contents manually or by computer, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
- Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
- inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods
- unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage area
- maintain internal, manual or computerized record-keeping systems
- Forklift operation, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods
- maintain a clean and organizes stockroom
- report low inventory as required (generally once per year)
- Build minor part assemblies and kits parts as required
- collect painted parts from painter racks and store where appropriate
Requirements
- High School or GED equivalent
- Valid forklift license and previous experience operating propane Counterbalance
- A minimum of 5 year's previous experience as a shipper and reciever
- proficiency with shipping software such as UPS, Purolator, Manitoulin, etc .
