Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on trucks and heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery.
- Use schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems effectively.
- Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed to repair or modify equipment components.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely to disassemble, repair, or assemble machinery parts.
- Execute heavy lifting tasks using appropriate equipment such as cranes or forklifts while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs for all repairs performed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all work meets safety standards and operational requirements.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and industrial equipment maintenance.
- Dealership experience preferred but not required; familiarity with heavy machinery brands such as Caterpillar is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, HVAC systems, farm machinery, or other heavy equipment.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting techniques.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and industrial maintenance practices.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients alike.
