Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Finance Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy in reporting, and supporting management with timely financial insights. This position requires strong organizational skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders.
What You'll do:
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records in Sage 50
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and provide insights to management and directors
- Process and input payroll to Ceridian, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Complete and file quarterly HST returns in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Monitor cash flow and support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end procedures
- Manage the Corporate Benefits Plan and assist with HR functions
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar accounting or finance role
- Proficiency with Sage 50 and Microsoft Excel
- Experience with payroll processing (Ceridian) and HST filings
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management considered an asset
- Knowledge of employment standards and HR administration considered an asset.
