Allco DataComm is currently seeking motivated individuals to join our growing low-voltage division as Low Voltage Technicians.
For more than 26 years, Allco DataComm has provided dependable telecommunications and low-voltage solutions throughout Winnipeg and the surrounding area. As a division of Allco Electrical Ltd., we specialize in structured cabling, CCTV, card access and security systems for clients across the commercial, industrial and healthcare sectors.
About the Position
The Low Voltage Technician will assist with the installation, termination and testing of structured cabling and low-voltage systems.
You will work alongside experienced senior technicians while gaining practical knowledge and hands-on experience on a variety of job sites. This position is well suited to someone who is detail-oriented, eager to learn and interested in building a long-term career in the telecommunications and low-voltage industry.
As your experience and abilities develop, Allco DataComm will support you in working toward your Class “M-V” Limited Electrical Licence.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Install, terminate and test Cat6 and Cat6A copper cabling
· Assist with the installation, termination and testing of fibre optic cabling
· Assist with CCTV, card access and security system installations
· Install cable pathways, supports and related low-voltage components
· Read and follow drawings, specifications and installation instructions
· Work collaboratively with senior technicians, supervisors and other trades
· Use tools and testing equipment safely and correctly
· Maintain a clean, organized and professional worksite
· Complete work according to project requirements and company quality standards
· Follow all company policies, construction-site rules and safety regulations

Qualifications and Skills
· Previous structured cabling or low-voltage experience is considered an asset but is not required
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
· Positive attitude and willingness to learn
· Ability to understand and follow instructions
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team
· Professional and respectful communication skills
· Ability to work safely in active construction environments
· Basic hand tools
· CSA-approved safety footwear
· Valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
· Ability to travel to job sites throughout Winnipeg and the surrounding area
