Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion and experience of cake decorating and food presentation, with experience in the food industry. This role involves transforming baked goods into visually stunning desserts that delight our customers. A strong understanding of food safety and handling, along with excellent customer service skills, is essential to ensure a positive experience for all guests. Duties
- Decorate cakes and baked goods according to customer specifications and bakery standards
- Prepare cakes for decoration, including frosting, filling, and layering
- Use various decorating tools and techniques such as piping, airbrushing, and fondant work
- Ensure all food handling and safety protocols are followed during cake preparation and decoration
- Package finished products securely for delivery or display
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations and adhere to kitchen sanitation standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including baking, portioning, and assembling desserts
- Provide excellent customer service by discussing decorating options and addressing special requests
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of orders
Experience
- Proven experience in cake decorating or bakery arts is highly preferred
- Background in restaurant or food service environments is advantageous
- Knowledge of food preparation, baking, and cooking techniques within the food industry
- Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling procedures
- Experience with food packaging and presentation techniques
- Strong attention to detail with an artistic eye for design and aesthetics
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining high-quality standards
