Thedford Veterinary Hospital is a newly established small animal clinic looking to expand our growing team. The clinic is a fast-paced environment and the ideal candidate must be capable of working under pressure on time sensitive tasks, handle heavy loads (such as large bags of food, animals, cages and equipment), standing for extended periods time, work as a team member in small spaces, and engage with clients with excellent oral and written communication skills.

Position Summary:
The Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist primarily works with the Office Manager in front of house duties such as answering calls, emails, website inquiries and booking appointments and house calls. They will also help prepare estimates, invoices, print and prepare patient forms for daily appointments, update patient records, and collect payments from clients. Duties will also include assisting the veterinarian with patient exams in the consult rooms by holding or restraining animals, clipping nails, and assisting with collecting biological samples. Running samples through various diagnostic tests, assisting with x-rays, preparing medications and vaccines under supervision, and assisting the veterinarian in pre and post surgery procedures, vital sign monitoring, animal after care, and sanitizing and preparing surgical equipment.
