Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Sushi Line Cook to join our vibrant culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi and Japanese dishes in a fast-paced restaurant environment. This role requires a strong understanding of food preparation, food safety, and excellent serving skills to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests. The Sushi Line Cook will work closely with the kitchen team to maintain consistency, presentation, and adherence to health standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble sushi dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Handle food preparation tasks including slicing, portioning, and assembling ingredients
- Cook various Japanese dishes with precision and consistency
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with safety and sanitation regulations
- Assist in inventory management by monitoring ingredients and supplies
- Serve dishes promptly while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours
Experience
- Prior experience in food service, especially in sushi preparation or Japanese cuisine, is highly preferred
- Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards within the food industry
- Experience working in a restaurant environment with a focus on meal preparation and food safety
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment used in sushi preparation such as knives, rice cookers, and refrigeration units
- Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction and attention to detail in food presentation
- Previous restaurant or food industry experience demonstrating reliability, teamwork, and professionalism
Pay: $18.25-$20.00 per hour
