Job Summary
We are a small, very busy, family run automotive repair shop seeking a skilled Automotive Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance, with experience on gas and diesel. We work on most makes excluding Mercedes, BMW, Audi, VW. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of vehicles, ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The position offers an opportunity to work with a dedicated team in a fast-paced environment, utilizing a wide range of mechanical skills and tools.
Duties
- Perform comprehensive vehicle diagnostics to identify mechanical issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on engines, suspension, steering, brakes, and other vehicle components
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to complete repairs effectively
- Follow manufacturer specifications and schematics to ensure accurate repairs
- Perform heavy lifting as needed for parts and equipment handling
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to extend vehicle lifespan
- Maintain detailed records of work performed for each vehicle
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and environmental regulations
- Assist with vehicle assembly or disassembly as required for repairs or upgrades
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs and maintenance needs clearly to clients
Skills
- Proven mechanic experience - Journeyman AST
- Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and schematics reading
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently
- Experience with automotive repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting techniques
- Knowledge of vehicle assembly processes and diagnostic procedures
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with safety protocols related to automotive repair operations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $31.44-$50.55 per hour
