This position involves half day in the office and half day in the classroom as a program staff.
An ideal candidate shall have a minimum of 2 years of full time RECE experience at a licensed daycare centre in the province of Ontario and possess an in-depth understanding of the policies and procedures relating to childcare, such as centre policies, Code of Ethic and Standards, CCEYA, local Public Health, Ministry, Food handling, etc. The candidate shall also demonstrate confidence in child guidance, knowledge of behaviour management, critic thinking & problem solving skills, in depth understanding of proximal zone of development and implementation of activities to various age groups.
We are looking for a team player who understands the importance of a positive work environment, takes responsibilities, has ability to self-reflect and self-regulate. Most importantly, someone who loves children and able to be patient and put their needs and interests first at all time.

- Follows instructions and directions from supervisor,
- Collaborates with colleagues with programming, and implementation of activities,
- Connects parents with relevant resources,
- Provides a safe, sanitary, and inclusive physical environment for children,
- Manages and prioritizes tasks in a fast pace environment,
- Ensures the ratio and well being (physical and mental) of children are met at all time,
- Evaluates children’s overall development and shares progress with parents and management,
- Identifies children with needs and to inform management for support,
- Assists children in developing self-help skills and nurturing a healthy self-esteems,
- Understands and maintains all records,
- Documents daily activities and developmental progress,
- Demonstrates an understanding of centre’s Policy and Procedures,
- Develops and implements activities in accordance to Early Learning for Every Child Today (ELECT) document,
- Creates a nurturing environment inline with How Does Learning Happen? Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA),
- Understands regulations from early childhood regulatory bodies, which includes College of Early Childhood
Assistant Supervisor
- Demonstrates proficiency in administrative softwares, such as Google Doc/MS Words, Google Sheet/Excel, PowerPoint, etc.,
- Demonstrates proficiency in using parents-teachers communication tools (Lillio),
- Answers phone and inquires from interested families,
- Greets and tours interested families of the centre and answers their inquiries,
- Replies and follows up with emails in Inbox,
- Replies and follows up with messages from Lillio (parents-teachers communication platform),
- Prepares enrollment (setting up profile, door code, classroom readiness, food restriction list, etc),
- Arranges, books and conducts tours for potential families,
- Assists with classroom observation and monitoring, including programming,
- Assists with performance evaluation,
- Supports new children with transition,
- Offers support to teachers for the purpose of role modeling, and meeting ratio requirement,
- Contacts and maintains supply staff,
- Assists with scheduling (sick days, vacation days, etc),
- Ensures all the files (children and teachers) are kept up-to-date,
- Ensures all monthly reports are conducted and reported (first aid, fire drills, playground, etc),
- Builds and maintains relationship with staff, children and parents,
- Attends general management meeting
