Child-Care Centre AdministratorPosition Summary
The Childcare Centre Administrator is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and evaluating the overall operations, programs, and services of the child-care centre. The role provides leadership to staff, ensures compliance with licensing and regulatory requirements, manages resources and budgets, and fosters a safe, inclusive, and high-quality learning environment for children and families.
Job Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the daily operations of the childcare centre.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and program objectives in accordance with provincial childcare regulations and organizational standards.
- Oversee enrolment, admissions, staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Recruit, supervise, mentor, and evaluate educators, administrative staff, and support personnel.
- Coordinate staff training and professional development activities to promote continuous improvement and quality care.
- Monitor compliance with childcare licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and organizational policies.
- Develop and administer operating budgets, monitor expenditures, and authorize purchases of supplies, equipment, and services.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents, families, community organizations, and regulatory agencies.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and services and implement improvements to enhance children's learning and development outcomes.
- Prepare operational reports, program evaluations, budgets, and other administrative documentation.
- Lead quality assurance initiatives and ensure the delivery of inclusive, child-centred, and developmentally appropriate programs.
- Coordinate centre events, family engagement activities, and community partnerships.
- Represent the childcare centre in meetings with government agencies, professional associations, and community stakeholders.
