The Role
We are looking for a Staff Accountant / CPA Articling Student to join our team. This is a hands-on role with direct client exposure and real ownership of files from day one. You will work across bookkeeping, payroll, tax compliance, and government filings, with support and mentorship as you build toward your CPA designation.
What You Will Do
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping in QuickBooks Online (QBO), including verifying, posting, reconciling transactions and reviewing client files
- Prepare and process payroll, applying payroll legislation and calculations accurately
- Prepare and file GST, PST, EHT, and WCB (WorkSafeBC) returns, including the underlying calculations and reporting
- Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations and month-end working papers
- Assist with corporate and personal tax return preparation
- Communicate directly with clients to gather information and answer questions
- Handle correspondence and filings directly with the CRA on behalf of clients
- Monitor deadlines to keep client filings on time
What You Bring
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online (QBO)
- Working knowledge of payroll, including payroll legislation and calculations
- Experience or working knowledge of GST, PST, EHT, and WCB calculations and reporting
- Experience dealing directly with the CRA
- Experience dealing directly with clients
- Enrolled in or working toward the CPA program (articling student)
- Strong (Fluent) written and verbal English communication skills
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple client deadlines
- A team player who takes ownership and is not afraid to ask questions

Pay: $40,000.00-$50,000.00 per year
