Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations and oversee a team of 6–10 trades and contractors. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to drive efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 6 - 10 employees and external service contractors
- Oversee daily maintenance operations, including preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting
- Act as a liaison between unionized trades, contractors, and internal stakeholders
- Provide technical guidance and resolve complex maintenance issues
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and participate in safety initiatives
- Enforce company policies and promote accountability and professionalism
- Support after-hours/on-call requirements as needed
- Partner with senior leadership to improve processes and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- 5+ years in a maintenance leadership role (unionized environment preferred)
- Strong mechanical and electrical knowledge
- Solid understanding of building systems, construction, and engineering principles
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Tech-savvy with experience using maintenance systems/tools
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
