Who We Are
Calscapes Inc. is a professional commercial landscaping and snow management company based in Calgary. When a snowfall event hits, our clients — commercial property owners across the city — count on us to keep their sites clear, safe, and accessible. Our skid steer operators are at the centre of making that happen.
We run professional equipment, we show up for our crews, and we take quality workmanship seriously. If you are an experienced operator who takes pride in doing the job right, you will fit in here.
The Role
As a Skid Steer Operator on our snow removal team, you will operate Bobcat skid steers and loaders to clear snow from commercial properties throughout Calgary. This is event-driven work — when it snows, you're on. Shifts run long during heavy events, and the pace is fast. The pay reflects that.
What to expect from this role
This is shift-based, on-call seasonal work driven by weather events. You will work long shifts in extreme cold, sometimes overnight or on weekends. It is demanding, well-paid, and the kind of work that experienced operators who want solid hours and overtime find rewarding.
What You'll Do
- Operate Bobcat skid steers and loaders to clear snow from commercial parking lots, walkways, and access routes efficiently and safely.
- Monitor site conditions throughout your shift — identifying ice build-up and applying appropriate ice control materials (sand, salt, liquid de-icer) as required.
- Maintain safe equipment operation at all times, including pre-shift and post-shift inspections to ensure your machine is roadworthy and ready.
- Assist with manual snow removal as needed — shovelling, snow blowing, and clearing tight areas that equipment cannot reach.
- Work independently and as part of a crew — managing your assigned sites with strong time management while staying in contact with dispatch and site supervisors.
- Drive company trucks and tow trailers to transport equipment between job sites safely and efficiently.
- Perform your duties in extreme winter conditions — cold, wind, low visibility, and long hours. Reliability and composure under pressure are essential.
What We Offer
- $20–$25/hr based on experience — with room to grow for operators who perform
- Overtime pay on qualifying hours — event-based work means real OT opportunities when Calgary gets hit
- Bi-weekly pay — reliable, on-schedule, every two weeks
- All equipment provided — no BYOE required
- Stable, consistent hours throughout the snow season
- Potential for year-round employment — summer landscaping crews for the right candidates
- A professional, safety-focused team that looks out for each other on every shift
What We're Looking For

- Reliable personal transportation to reach our Calgary yard at the start of each shift
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and working extended outdoor shifts in winter conditions
- Strong situational awareness, time management, and a safety-first mindset
- Professional attitude when interacting with clients and the public on commercial properties
Valued Assets (Not Required)
