Principle Group Ltd. (PGL) is hiring a Certified Trailer Technician to join our shop in Nisku. This role is ideal for a technician who is comfortable working in a fast-paced fleet environment and understands that safe, timely, and accurate trailer service keeps trucks, equipment, and customer freight moving.
This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for a certified technician with strong experience inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining commercial transport trailers. Alberta CVIP / Inspection Technician licensing or eligibility/willingness to pursue licensing is required. Day-to-day work includes preventive maintenance, diagnostics, inspections, brake and suspension repair, electrical and lighting repair, structural trailer repair, breakdown repair, and fleet support.

What You'll Be Doing
- Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled service on commercial transport trailers and related fleet equipment.
- Complete trailer inspections, PM service, diagnostics, breakdown repair, and fleet inspections.
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions using computerized, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical testing methods.
- Inspect, repair, replace, adjust, and overhaul defective trailer parts, components, and systems.
- Service and repair brake systems, suspension systems, wheel ends, axles, landing gear, fifth wheel-related components, lighting, wiring, ABS, air systems, doors, decks, frames, and body components.
- Complete Alberta CVIP inspections and inspection documentation in accordance with Company and regulatory requirements.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure work meets manufacturer, regulatory, safety, and operational standards.
- Follow oral and written work orders, document work performed accurately, and maintain safe, orderly shop practices.
What We're Looking For
- Certified Trailer Technician / Transport Trailer Technician certification is required.
- Alberta Inspection Technician License / CVIP authorization is required.
- Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician certification is an asset.
- Dual certifications in Automotive and Heavy Equipment Technician are considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license is required; Class 1 or Class 3 is desirable.
- Oilfield, transportation, or commercial fleet experience is an asset.
- Strong experience with commercial trailers, air brake systems, suspension, electrical, ABS, wheel-end, and structural trailer repair.
- Mechanically strong, safety-focused, accountable, and able to work independently in a busy shop environment.
- Experience mentoring apprentices or supporting junior technicians.
