The Position
Resound School of Music is hiring passionate and reliable Violin Teachers to teach in-home private lessons throughout Burnaby, BC. If you enjoy inspiring students and sharing your love of music, we'd love to hear from you!
- This position is part-time but could grow to become full-time
- Weekday afternoon and evening teaching (starting after 3:00 PM)
- Teaching locations throughout Burnaby and New Westminster, as well as opportunities in East Van and Coquitlam Tri-Cities.

Job Responsibilities
As a Violin Teacher, you will:
- Travel by vehicle to students’ homes
- Teach private violin lessons (30–60 minutes) to children, teens, and adults
- Create individualized lesson plans based on each student's goals, interests, and learning style
- Teach proper violin technique, posture, bowing, intonation, music reading, and musicianship
- Encourage student progress through engaging, positive, and well-structured lessons
- Prepare students for recitals, examinations, auditions, or personal musical goals when appropriate
This position is ideal for teachers who enjoy one-on-one instruction, flexible scheduling, and building long-term relationships with students and families.
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Strong proficiency on the violin
- Experience teaching violin lessons to students of different ages and skill levels
- A friendly, patient, and enthusiastic teaching style
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
- A genuine passion for teaching music and inspiring others
Compensation
Our starting rate is $45.00–$55.00 per teaching hour. While travel time is not included, we plan routes and schedules strategically to minimize driving so you can maximize your time spent teaching.

- Weekdays after 3:00 PM
- Optional weekend availability
