ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Certified Truck & Trailer Mechanic to perform inspections, maintenance and repairs on our heavy truck and trailers, and a variety of heavy equipment and light vehicles the Crane Mountain Landfill.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Inspecting trucks and trailers and equipment for proper performance.
· Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts
· Repairing damaged equipment parts
· Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles
· Performing major repair work when necessary
· Maintain records of equipment repaired along with time spent on such equipment
· Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using appropriate tools
· Ordering parts as required
· Dealing with vendors
· Ensure work areas are kept tidy, and housekeeping standards are maintained
· Adhering to all safety standards
· Take on other responsibilities as required.
WHAT YOU BRING
· Certified Mechanic in T & T
· High school diploma or GED.
· 4+ years related experience.
· Heavy equipment mechanic an asset
· Experience with a variety of equipment makes and models.
· Strong attention to detail
· Ability to organize priorities based on deadlines
· Good communication skills
· Class 1 drivers’ licence is an asset
