Role Summary
Load, unload and move products and materials by hand or using basic material handling equipment. Perform other material handling activities such as counting, weighing, sorting, packing and unpacking.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Ensures orderly production and distribution of products by pulling orders from inventory, delivering production materials and supplies where needed, and staging finished product final distribution
- Ensure safe operation of lift truck
- Maintain respectful communication on radio
- Contributes to the orderly operation of stock and/or materials storage area
- Maintains inventory by identifying, labeling, and keeping materials and supplies in stock, recording location of inventory, and reporting shortages
- Locates materials and supplies by pulling and verifying materials and supplies listed on production orders
- Operate forklift to transport materials to and from transportation vehicles and loading docks and to store and retrieve materials in shop and warehouse
- Ensure housekeeping is maintained and material is stored in an organized fashion, out of pedestrian walkways
- May perform other activities, such as opening containers and crates, filling warehouse orders, assisting in taking inventory and weighing and checking materials
