Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Technical-Production Designer to join our signage team. The ideal candidate will develop technical sign packages and layouts, along with production files, to meet job-specific requirements for wayfinding and identification signage in complex environments like condominiums, public buildings, commercial offices, hotels and retail spaces.
This role requires a strong foundation in translating conceptual designs into physical, durable signage using varied materials, creating high-impact, buildable designs that balance brand aesthetics with practical fabrication requirements.
Duties
- Create compelling digital designs and motion graphics for various media platforms using Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and InDesign.
- Develop 2D and 3D animations utilizing Maya, SketchUp, and other animation tools to enhance visual storytelling.
- Design and produce visual assets for fashion collections, construction projects, or artistic exhibitions, incorporating principles of typography and visual arts painting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and execute design concepts that meet project specifications.
- Prepare detailed sketches and technical drawings using CAD or SketchUp for construction or manufacturing purposes.
- Assist in the development of HTML and CSS code for web-based projects requiring interactive visual elements.
- Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and project requirements while maintaining high aesthetic standards.
- Support the production process by reviewing prototypes, providing revisions, and ensuring final outputs meet quality expectations.
Requirements
- Experience Level: 3 plus years in signage, environmental graphic design or industrial design
- Education: A degree in Graphic Design, Industrial Design or Architecture
- Software Proficiency: Knowledge of vector-based software is a must. All in-house layouts and production files are CorelDRAW facilitated. We are a PC based work environment; Excel, Gmail, Google applications, 3D rendering software (SketchUp, 3D Shaper), CAD based software and raster editing programs is an asset.
Pay: $26.00-$32.00 per hour
