Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping and Receiving Clerk to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the flow of goods into and out of our warehouse. This position requires strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Experience with warehouse management systems and shipping/receiving processes is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the shipping and receiving operations, ensuring all products are accurately logged and tracked.
- Load and unload shipments using forklifts, reach trucks, or order pickers as necessary.
- Inspect incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to management.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely processing of orders.
- Organize the warehouse space efficiently to facilitate easy access to products.
- Perform regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining stock levels.
- Banding, shrink wrapping, and pallet packing (required)
- Create shipments using the computer and shipping software
- Prepare shipping documents, labels including bill of lading and packing slips for domestic and international orders
- Monitor shipments and follow up on orders that are delayed or held at the border
- Respond to issues such as insufficient documentation or customs delays
- Communicate with customers regarding order status, shipping updates, and documentation if required
- Load and unload shipments and inspect incoming deliveries for accuracy
- Maintain an organized and clean shipping area
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred, particularly in shipping and receiving roles.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers is required.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills to interact with team members and other departments.
- Physical ability to lift heavy items (up to 50 pounds) and stand for extended periods.
