Job description:
Fisher is a family-owned, exclusive stainless steel bulk liquid transport company hauling both sanitary and non-sanitary liquids, with emphasis on sanitary products, primarily milk. We have been a transporter of raw milk within Nova Scotia for 64 years.
We are looking for:
Local (based out of Truro, NS) Professional Class 1 Farm Pick Up Driver 4 days on 2 days off.
And
Professional Long-Haul Driver (Quebec and Maritime runs from Milford/Truro) 5 days on 2 days off schedule.
We have an immediate opening for a professional Class 1 Truck Driver that will involve local, Nova Scotia based work in a full time capacity. The current opening will be based out of Truro, NS. It is not necessary that candidates have experience in the dairy industry or in grading milk, although it would be considered an asset. These opportunities offer a predictable work schedule with local work that will provide the opportunity for a rewarding career with an established, growing Nova Scotia based Company. We operate a fleet of over 100 late model tractor and trailer units and are looking for career minded, team players willing to join an established transporter on a trajectory of consistent growth. Job Responsibilities:

Bulk Milk Graders are responsible for the grading of raw milk at the farm based on performing a series of quality assurance tests and sampling at each farm on designated, daily routes throughout central, northern and eastern Nova Scotia to ensure the milk delivered to each dairy processor is of acceptable quality. Product training will be provided.

Transport of raw milk from the various farms to Nova Scotia dairy processing plants in Truro and Halifax/Dartmouth, primarily.

Inspect vehicles for mechanical items, safety issues and perform minor preventative maintenance

Meet daily pickup and delivery schedules

Comply with all Federal and Provincial vehicle compliance regulations as well as company specific safe work procedures and company policies. .Operating Quad axle and Tridem axle milk tankers in and out of very tight loading and unloading facilities
We Require:

Valid Class 1 License for Manual Transmission

Current employment resume

Minimum 3 years Class 1 driving experience

Safe driving record with no major incidents (Current Drivers Abstract).

Clean criminal background check and pass a pre-employment drug test

Bulk Milk Grader Certificate not necessary but would be considered an asset

Tanker experience is an asset.
