McNair Electric Ltd. is seeking a versatile and highly organized Procurement Specialist. This role is essential for the efficient coordination of materials, tools, equipment, and rentals required to support construction operations.
Procurement & Purchasing Responsibilities
- Conduct the sourcing, evaluation, and acquisition of necessary equipment and materials, prioritizing operational efficiency and cost minimization.
- Execute supplier qualifications, manage requests for proposals, and lead contract negotiations while implementing robust risk management strategies.
- Oversee the acquisition of goods and services, focusing on strategic supplier relationship management and fiscal responsibility.
- Perform comprehensive market research to identify reliable suppliers and ensure all purchase orders comply with corporate policies.
- Maintain rigorous standards for high-quality and cost-effective procurement.
Qualifications & Core Competencies
- A minimum of two to four years of professional experience is preferred; however, highly motivated entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Possession of a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management is strongly preferred.
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite, with a demonstrated aptitude for learning and instructing others on computer systems.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects effectively.
- Advanced negotiation skills with an understanding of price trade-offs to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
- Technical knowledge regarding the drafting, interpretation, and revision of legal contracts.
- Logical problem-solving capabilities complemented by strong analytical skills.
- Ability to deliver high-quality, detail-oriented results under strict deadline constraints.
- Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, results-driven performance, and a service-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of the electrical, construction, or trades industry.
