ROLE
Surerus is looking to hire a Labourer to support operations in our Fort St John location. You'll be responsible for general support on a variety of tasks within the Fort St John Shop and Yards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Comply with Surerus Safety practices and procedures
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment
- Assist tradespeople and machine operators as needed
- Gather tools and materials as requested by foreperson and tradespeople
- Clean and prepare job sites by removing debris and hazardous materials
- Operate hand and power tools
- Complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments
- Perform spotting for various types of equipment
- Perform other general labour duties as assigned
Note: In addition to these duties personnel are required to carry out such other duties as may be reasonably required in order to support the objectives of the company.

Qualifications
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Reliable transportation to and from work
Experience
- Previous experience in general labour or construction is an asset.
Skills & Knowledge
- Self-starter with problem solving skills and adaptability
- Ability to lift heavy objects (50+ lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently as well as part of a team
- Safety conscious and aware of job site protocols
- Punctual with a strong work ethic
- Excellent communication skills
WORKING CONDITIONS
This position is based in Fort St John and often works within the yard and other locations. Must be able to work 8 – 10 hour days, 5 - 6 days a week.
Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test is required as a condition of employment. Steel toed boots are required for this position.
COMPENSATION
The hourly rate for this position is $24.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on the candidates skills and experience.
