Role Description
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Night Auditor to oversee overnight hotel operations and financial audits at Mount Alverno. In this role, you will be responsible for balancing daily transactions, managing front desk operations, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining the safety and security of the property during night hours.
Job Responsibilities
- Checking all arrivals / late arrivals / early checkouts.
- Balancing all daily financial transactions, including credit card charges, cash payments, and room charges.
- Preparing daily financial reports and submitting them to the accounting department.
- Checking guests in and out of the hotel during overnight hours, and ensuring guest satisfaction by addressing any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Responding to guest inquiries and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Answering phone calls and taking messages as needed.
- Maintaining a clean and organized front desk area.
- Maintain strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail.
- Work independently.
- Managing and supervising all front desk staff members.
- Managing and resolving any staffing issues.
- Coordinating with housekeeping staff to ensure that rooms are cleaned and prepared for all guest’s arrivals.
- Monitoring hotel security and responding to any security issues.
- Setting Up Breakfast Buffets and Clearing Tables for inhouse and early bird departures.
- Airline crew express check-ins. Preparing all key card info for smooth check-ins.
- Check Kitchen Fridges, Laundry and Electrical Rooms on Property.
- Checking Car Park and Securing the Property.
- Performing other duties as assigned by hotel management.
- Maintain excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Fire & Safety Executions and Drills.
- Prepare Revenue reports and track all transactions across all POS.
- Verification of all guests’ IDs and Credit Card Info.
- Must have valid certifications in The Hospitality Industry and Canadian Experience.
- Clearly define his / her role during the night operations.
- Other duties and tasks assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a hotel front desk, night auditor, or overnight hotel operations role.
- Previous Night Auditor experience is strongly preferred•
- Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management, Hotel Operations, Accounting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of hotel accounting procedures, night audit processes, and revenue balancing.
- Proven experience handling cash, credit cards, POS systems, and financial reconciliation.
- Proficiency with hotel management systems (PMS) and basic accounting software
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skillswith the ability to identify discrepancies.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during overnight hours
- Knowledge of fire safety procedures, emergency response, and hotel security protocols.
- Physically able to perform night-shift duties including light setup, inspections, and security rounds.
- Valid Canadian work authorization and previous Canadian hospitality experience required.
- Willingness and availability to workovernight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Certifications such as First Aid / CPR, Fire Safety, or WHMIS are considered an asset
